ABOUT ME
I'm currently part of the Data Intelligence team at Bank of Valletta where my role as a manager involves leading a team of data analysts.
Prior to my current role, I was a consultant with EY specialising in data science. I also formed part of the AI research team at IBEX Innovations where I was responsible for designing new solutions enhanced by AI to extract crucial information from X-Ray images.
Before joining IBEX I did a PhD in Electrical Engineering at Heriot-Watt University. My research focused on finding new techniques blending optimisation and AI to obtain more reliable image outputs. I also did an MSc in Quantitative Finance and Mathematics at Heriot-Watt University (Edinburgh) and a BEng at the University of Malta.
During the final year of my PhD, I co-founded Podspectrix to find a cost-effective solution for the early detection of diabetic foot ulcers.
My research interests include medical imaging, AI, image processing and data science. In my free time I enjoy reading and doing sports.
